ACCESS STATEMENT FOR ROSEGARTH
INTRODUCTION
Rosegarth is a detached cottage dating back to the 1750 s with two guest bedrooms on the first floor. Our rooms can only be accessed via the stairs so guests with limited mobility will have difficulty accessing the rooms. ARRIVAL & PARKING
Rosegarth is situated in a quiet location just out of the town centre. Although it is walking distance from the bus & train station it is up a short hill. There are good local taxi services & the local bus stops right outside our gate.
Off road parking is available for guests on our drive (which is sloping) & we can assist with any luggage if you require. There is a small 15cm step off the drive through an 89cm gate onto a level flag stone patio that leads to the main entrance.
MAIN ENTRANCE & RECEPTION
Our main entrance has a 13cm step leading into a quarry tiled porch then straight into the breakfast room/reception. This room has a wood floor with two rectangular pine tables & six chairs with no arms and ample room to move around easily. There is also a table with information & a small fridge for drinks.
There is another small13cm step out of this room into another room, which gives access to the stairs.
PUBLIC AREAS- GENERAL
All our downstairs rooms have wooden or tiled floors .The stairs, Landing & hallways are covered in short pile carpet. There are 13 steps leading upstairs with the last three at the top curving round to the right.
BEDROOMS
Both bedrooms are ensuite and there is no ground floor or further toilet for the guests to use. One ensuite has a double width shower, sink& toilet. The other one has a corner bath with a shower over, sink & toilet. There is plenty of room in both for toiletries.
The bedrooms have each got a double bed in but it is possible to fit a single bed in one room.
There are tea & coffee making facilities, hair dryers, colour TV, radio alarm, magazines and a folder containing local information, restaurants & emergency phone numbers. On both sides of each bed there is a table & lamp and each room has two chairs in with arms on.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It is no smoking anywhere in the house but ashtrays are provided out side. There is good mobile phone reception.
We have a night emergency bell available for assistance.
There are smoke alarms fitted in bedrooms & public areas and a fire extinguisher on the landing.
Menus can be printed in large print but not Braille.
